We finally tracked down the Ottawa Pride this morning. The 3 lionesses and 8 cubs were lying up next to a puddle of water in the middle of the bush. They all had full stomachs and we soon found out what they were filled with.
The lions moved away from the puddle and led us to the remains of an adult male nyala. Only bones and the horns were left. The night before we left them close to this area with a nyala browsing about 100m from them, oblivious of the fact that there were lions nearby. This is probably the same nyala that was to meet its end.
